New #NSK ball screws benefit electric injection moulding machines We are introducing the advanced HTF-SRM series, a high-speed, heat-resistant version of our ball screws for high-load drive applications. This innovative product is ideal for electric injection moulding machines tasked with manufacturing high-cycle, thin-wall products in short cycle times. The HTF-SRM ball screw achieves the industry’s highest levels of speed and heat resistance thanks to our newly developed ‘RM Recirculation System’ and heat-resistant materials and parts. With these advances, we can reveal that the permissible d-n value (shaft diameter x rotation speed) is 200,000, a 40% improvement over our conventional high-speed HTF-SRC ball screws. Furthermore, the maximum operating temperature (90°C) and momentary maximum temperature (100°C) are both 20°C higher than our conventional products. NSK to participate in large-scale offshore wind turbine project #NSK will take part in a major research project funded by the Japanese Government's New Energy and Industrial Technology Development Organization (NEDO). This exciting project will engage in research that helps facilitate the rapid large-scale deployment of floating offshore wind turbines in Japan. The ambition of the project is to research and develop #technology that evaluates the wake effect phenomenon in floating wind turbines. As part of the research, we will aim to enhance the reliability of #bearings for wind turbines by understanding the attributes of load changes acting on turbines as a result of the wake effect, thus supporting more widespread adoption of wind power generation. With NSK Europe determined to help build a sustainable world by pursuing advanced environmental practices, our facilities across the continent continue to make improvements set against tough CO2 reduction targets. We are well on track to meet our goal of reducing Scope 1 and Scope 2 carbon emissions by 80% this financial year in comparison with the FY2017 baseline. This bodes well for subsequent NSK Europe targets: 90% reduction of Scope 1 and 2 emissions by 2026; and 100% reduction (zero Scope 1 and 2 emissions) by 2030. We’re also targeting reductions in water consumption and waste generation. Regarding the latter, NSK Europe is already achieving a 16.5% reduction in waste against the FY2022 baseline and accomplishing a recycling level of 96.8%. A tech day contains some theory and a lot of practice on the work floor, where the participants get a hands-on experience about how to handle and work with bearings, to get the maximum performance and lifetime out of them.
